I/We, as a community group, engagement practitioner, project manager, commissioning body or service provider, commit to advancing inclusive and effective community consultation and engagement in our place-based or development projects.

I/We understand that the principles are not designed to a bare minimum of good and excellent engagement but are a way to strengthen commitment through assessing, reflecting on and improving practice.

I/We understand that working collaboratively with local stakeholders is vital to the short-, medium- and long-term wellbeing of those places, its nature, its economy and its people.

I/We commit to carrying out a self-assessment of our work and submitting this to the Quality of Life Foundation to share good practice and demonstrate how the principles within the Code of Practice can be upheld.

To uphold this ambition, I/we adhere to its eight principles and good/excellent standards:

  1. Be accountable
  2. Be effective
  3. Be transparent
  4. Be inclusive
  5. Be timely
  6. Support mutual learning
  7. Demonstrate impact
  8. Publish feedback

Please enter your details below once you have read through the principles in more detail, as outlined in the Code of Practice.
