Homes

We all have a right to live in homes that are healthy. That means they are warm, free from damp and mould, with enough space (indoor and out) and access to natural light. But as the lockdown has shown, it also means homes that are adaptable to our changing circumstances, as we grow and change ourselves.

  • Space standards: Well-designed and built homes with adequate space, that can adapt
to the changing needs of their occupants, for example to allow home working or changes in family circumstances.
  • Warmth and Comfort: Homes that are secure & warm, with good levels of natural light
and ventilation, that won’t overheat as the climate changes.
  • Environmental Performance: Homes that minimise whole-life carbon in construction
and materials, and energy demand in use, and that avoid toxic materials.
