Partnership opportunity: Help shape the future of neighbourhoods with new resident-led tool
The Quality of Life Foundation is offering an exciting opportunity for six Registered Providers to join us in shaping the future of social housing. Together, we will co-create an innovative Neighbourhood and Community Tool, empowering residents to influence local decision-making and improving how housing providers align their investments with community needs.
This project is designed to enhance resident engagement and ensure neighbourhoods reflect the priorities of those who live there. By collaborating with the Quality of Life Foundation, housing associations and local authorities can deepen their commitment to delivering healthier, more connected communities while meeting new consumer standards.
Why get involved?
The social housing sector is undergoing significant transformation, with updated regulations, such as Awaab’s Law, and new consumer standards focusing on tenancy, neighbourhood, and community. This project supports housing providers to address these challenges by embedding residents’ voices into strategic planning and decision-making.
Key benefits include:
- Strengthening engagement by giving residents a meaningful role in shaping their neighbourhoods
- Gaining actionable, localised insights into priorities such as safety, green spaces, and access to services
- Enhancing accountability and transparency with a structured, evidence-based approach
- Demonstrating leadership in creating thriving, sustainable communities
- Supporting long-term stewardship and building trust with residents.
By co-developing this tool, Registered Providers can ensure their strategies are aligned with residents’ lived experiences while fostering stronger community connections.
About the Neighbourhood and Community Tool
The tool will provide a digital platform (with a non-digital option for digitally excluded residents) to gather and analyse resident feedback. Built on the Quality of Life Framework, it will focus on health and wellbeing outcomes, encouraging residents to think holistically about their neighbourhoods.
The output will include detailed insights, place scores, and recommendations, helping providers make evidence-based decisions about estate regeneration, community investment, and stewardship priorities.
Be a founding partner
We are in warm conversations with a funder who is interested in progressing this work with match funding, and are now inviting six Registered Providers to become founding partners in the project.
A contribution of:
- £5,000 in funding and £5,000 in-kind support (e.g. staff time) from RPs with 50,000 homes or more
- £2,500 in funding and £2,500 in kind support from RPs with fewer than 50,000 homes
will enable your organisation to play a central role in the design and development of this innovative tool.
By participating, you will demonstrate your commitment to resident-led decision-making and your leadership in meeting new sector standards.
Don’t miss out
Place are limited, so don’t miss the opportunity to secure your place in this exciting project and help shape a future where residents have a greater say in their neighbourhoods.
