The new planning rules published by the Government on Monday will speed up housebuilding. But they will not, on their own, determine whether the homes we build are ones people can afford and live well in, or boost our environmental resilience and energy security.
That is the central argument of The Good Development Plan, a new report published today by the independent charity for good business ReGenerate and social enterprise Quality of Life Futures, drawing on interviews, surveys and workshops with more than 20 developers and built-environment experts, including Landsec, Muse, The Crown Estate, Capital&Centric, Urban Splash, Citu, Igloo Regeneration, Fabrix, TOWN and London CLT.
