Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in this post.

Our mission is to raise people’s quality of life by making health and wellbeing central to the way we create and care for our homes and communities. We believe that if we can improve the built environment – the buildings and neighbourhoods where people live in villages, towns and cities across the UK – then we can raise people’s physical, psychological and social wellbeing.

We do that through ongoing research and through the application of the Quality of Life Framework to products and services that make people’s wellbeing central to the design and planning process. These include the Quality of Life Strategy, a social value design review service; CCQOL, a new model for digital consultation; and YourQOL, a post-occupancy evaluation survey.

We are funded by grants from private companies but hope to add funding from charging for products and services and from charitable grants.

We started out as a company limited by guarantee but have recently changed our articles of association to become a Charity and will be applying to the Charity Commission in due course. Our articles are now:

  1. the advancement of health, in particular but without limitation, through the promotion of built environments which enhance health; and
  2. the advancement of education and the promotion of research in relation to without limitation planning, design, construction, environmental sustainability, management and maintenance of new and existing developments.
