Quality of Life Foundation announces new partnership with Landsec

We have confirmed Landsec as our newest core partner.

The UK property developer and investor will join the Quality of Life Foundation as a strategic advisor, inputting into our work programme, panel discussions and workshops. It will also pilot our services and act as a leader in creating change and delivering value for customers and communities alike.

Our core partners not only provide funding to help us carry out our core activities, enabling us to carry out charitable research, but also fulfil the role as an industry leader demonstrating commitment to improving quality of life across the country.

Sadie Morgan, our Founder, said: “Without the likes of Landsec joining us as a core partner, our Foundation wouldn’t be able to achieve our important work to better understand how the built environment sector can work to improve people’s quality of life.

“We are at a crucial point in the sector for integrating health and wellbeing into the way government and industry approach housing so it’s exciting to have one of the largest and most well-known developers in the UK join our team of partners.”

Mike Hood, CEO of Landsec’s regeneration business, added: “Creating successful places involves much more than just bricks and mortar. It’s about creating spaces where people and communities want to come together to live, work, meet and play. The best placemaking understands the importance of an area’s past and uses it to meaningfully inspire its future. We are supporting The Quality of Life Foundation to research just how much value this understanding can bring, and how we can make this insight an important part of the wider planning process.”

Landsec has already facilitated a roundtable Foundation, on measuring social value. The event brought together experts from across the built environment sector, financial institutions, local authorities, universities and community organisations. They discussed what social value means and how the sector can better integrate communities’ health, wellbeing and lived experiences in social value measurement. Attendees committed to opening a dialogue about social value and looking at how we use data and benchmarking to drive work in our communities.

In becoming a core partner, Landsec joins Berkeley GroupThe Crown EstateLovell and The Earls Court Development Company and the many other organisations who support our work as service partners and collaborators.
